New Classes

April 28, 2010

Hello:

I have started my new classes for this semester, and I am not happy with my Anatomy II class. My professor is very difficult to understand because he is from Kenya and has a very thick accent and you have to listen very closely to what he trying to say. Also, there are two classmates who have already gotten under my skin during the first seminar when I was trying to explain myself to the professor and how I felt about the class.

Anyway, I hope all that may read this is doing well in their classes for this semester and I hope that everyone will reach their goals.

Patricia if you read this, I hope to hear from you soon, and I am so happy that we have another class together:)

Goodbye

April 7, 2010

Well, it has finally ended and I will miss everyone that I have gotten to know in these short ten weeks. I think that having to do a blog for this class was an excellent idea, we were able to learn things about one another and get closer and also, I have made a few new friends while reading other blogs.

Well, I don't know if I will continue with this blog, but I will check in to see if anyone else is still writing and maybe I will continue to talk to everyone. I wish you all well and maybe we will meet again in another class.

I wish you all well, and enjoy your education experience!!!

Semester is almost over

March 24, 2010

Well, we are coming down to the last few weeks of this semester, and I am really looking for a break from this term. This semester was extremely hard for me; my writing class was stressful because I did not learn how to properly write a paper while I was in high school, and even though I had writing last term, it was difficult for me then also. Then I had to do anatomy and physiology and that was worse then writing. The only time I really study anything concerning the body was when I went to school for phlebotomy and that was a crash course. I know that I have to take the second half of anatomy, but I am truly not looking forward to this class again, I don't think that my brain will survive until I graduate next year. I'm really thinking about just throwing in the towel and telling all of those people who told me that I wouldn't be able to finish this course and get my Associates Degree that they were right and just find a job at a local food establishment. Then the fighter in me tells me that I can do it and that by the time I finish this course, I will be a better person for doing so. Well, we will see which of my personalities will win this bet, right now I'm leaning towards the one who says "RUN" and don't look back.

Hope everyone has a wonderful week and a great weekend as well as some beautiful weather, we are looking to reach 75 this weekend. See you in class:)

Spring time

March 17, 2010

I hope that everyone is doing well and that all have had a wonderful week. Here in North Carolina, the weather is starting to get warmer and we are suppose to go up to 73 degrees by Saturday. This is the type of weather that I long for, if I could find a place where the weather did not go above 85 degrees in the summer and 65 degrees in the winter I would move there in a heartbeat. I left New York because of the winters there, you could dig yourself out of a parking spot then go into the house to get warm or get ready for school or work and before you know it, the snow plow has come and plowed you back in. When I moved to North Carolina the first winter here I loved it, my children didn't have to wear a winter coat at all, the coldest it got was around 45 degrees and that is a cake walk compared to 23 - 28 degrees in New York. Although I do miss the spring and summer time in New York, I would rather be here in North Carolina it is more family friendly, and I love the southern hospitality you find here. This summer I plan to go back and visit and ride the circle line and do the dinner cruise, since I decided to cancel my ball until I finish school. Although many of my friends were looking forward to the Fire and Ice Ball, they could understand that I needed to focus on my schooling and then after I graduate we could have the ball as well as a graduation dinner. I think I like that idea even better. I want to thank everyone who gave me suggestions regarding the event and I will take them into consideration when I start to plan the event again. Thank you everyone.

Grades

Good evening everyone:

I'm here at my computer typing away. I just posted to one of my classmates and I also have posted to the discussion board this week (hoping that I did it correctly) and have started on my draft for the unit six project. I am a little disappointed at myself for letting my grades slip by a few points, but I guess if I work hard I can get them to where they were before.

I have decided to stop working on getting my fire and ice ball together until my grades go back to where they were, so this way I can concentrate on one thing at a time. I'm getting ready to go for a walk to clear my head and I hope everyone has a wonderful tomorrow and a great week ahead. See you in seminar.

Ball

Hello,

I know in one of my blogs I mentioned that my friend Diane and myself were planning to have a fire and ice ball. Well we have finally found two places that we would like to have the event, one is in White Plains, New York at the Ritz Carlton Hotel and the other is The Castle in Tarrytown New York. They are both beautiful places to hold the event and each venue is willing to work with our budget.

Since it is a fire and ice ball everyone was going to wear red and white and then I thought about it, when you look at fire there are other colors in the flame such as orange, blue, yellow, red and green so now we are telling everyone to choose a color from the flame so that we all do not look like cookie cutter cut-outs it will look more elegant if each person has on a different color of the flame or just the color white.

How does that sound to everyone? Please give any feedback that you may have it will be appreciated.

Daughter joins Kaplan

February 26, 2010

Hello everyone:

I know that I have not posted recently, but my daughter has just joined Kaplan to finish her degree in Paralegal studies and I have been trying to help her get adjusted with the discussion boards and the syllabus for her classes. Right now, she seems to enjoy them, but this is just her first week of class we will see how she feels after the first semester.

One of her professors has told her that because she can speak and write six different languages she would be an asset to any firm who hired her.

Well, I need to get started on my work for school, so I will speak with everyone later.
