I hope that everyone is doing well and that all have had a wonderful week. Here in North Carolina, the weather is starting to get warmer and we are suppose to go up to 73 degrees by Saturday. This is the type of weather that I long for, if I could find a place where the weather did not go above 85 degrees in the summer and 65 degrees in the winter I would move there in a heartbeat. I left New York because of the winters there, you could dig yourself out of a parking spot then go into the house to get warm or get ready for school or work and before you know it, the snow plow has come and plowed you back in. When I moved to North Carolina the first winter here I loved it, my children didn't have to wear a winter coat at all, the coldest it got was around 45 degrees and that is a cake walk compared to 23 - 28 degrees in New York. Although I do miss the spring and summer time in New York, I would rather be here in North Carolina it is more family friendly, and I love the southern hospitality you find here. This summer I plan to go back and visit and ride the circle line and do the dinner cruise, since I decided to cancel my ball until I finish school. Although many of my friends were looking forward to the Fire and Ice Ball, they could understand that I needed to focus on my schooling and then after I graduate we could have the ball as well as a graduation dinner. I think I like that idea even better. I want to thank everyone who gave me suggestions regarding the event and I will take them into consideration when I start to plan the event again. Thank you everyone.

Sharon,
ReplyDeleteI know exactly where you are coming from when you talk about the harsh winters up North. I am originally from the Chicago area and now reside in Tennessee. I had always said I was going to move away from the cold and 7 years ago, I did. It's nice to still have the change of the seasons, but I do not miss the cold and snow up to your rear-end! I do however, miss my mom, my oldest son, and my friends. I don't get to visit as often as I would like (about once a year). I would like to be able to go 3 or 4 times a year, but that would be very costly. A lot of the people here in Tennessee do not know what it is like to be in snow and cold like that. It gets 30 degrees here and everyone is having a fit and complaining about how cold it is. I have been in weather up North that is below zero, so I just laugh at them. Any way, it was kind of cool to talk to someone that really knows the meaning of a cold winter!
Have a great day :)
